| Develop or Discipline I™: "Employees do what you INSPECT, not what you EXPECT." While that saying may be a bit cynical, there is a lot of truth in it. Participants in Develop or Discipline I will be introduced to both informal and systematic processes for evaluating and managing employee performance. Develop or Discipline II™: Participants will be taught appropriate ways to handle poor performers and attendance problems. Covers: employee discipline; when to fire; documenting incidents; legal issues related to employee performance and disciplinary action. Co-facilitated by an attorney specializing in Employment Law. Workplace Legal Issues: Along with an update on current changes in law labor; participants will be given an overview of the legal issues that affect employers, and supervisors in the workplace. Topics include "litigation landmines", workplace harassment, discipline and termination, and discrimination. Co-facilitated with an attorney specializing in federal and Ohio employment law. Professional Writing Skills - Professional Writing Skills helps employees become more competent and confident when they write. Focuses on two of the biggest communication challenges: how to write more effective documents following a more efficient process. Participants of this workshop report that the quality of their documents increases while the quantity of time needed to write them decreases, often by 1/3. Topics include: Taking the "Grr" out of Grammar, Superior Style, and the writing Process. A Two-Day Course. Professional Writing Skills At a Glance - The "Shortcut" version of our two-day course Professional Writing Skills. After attending this workshop Participants will notice an improvement in the their sentence structure and word choice. A One-Day Course. Employee Communication Skills: Business Communication Skills covers techniques for improving the way convey messages are conveyed and accepted in the workplace. This course will help participants delegate tasks effectively, receive instructions clearly, and participate professionally in meetings. Effective Meetings: Creating an Agenda, Following an Agenda, Dealing with Difficult Attendees, How to Avoid being a nuisance, preparing for your turn to talk.
